A baby black rhinoceros calf has been born at the Saint Louis Zoo in Saint Louis, on January 14, weighing 54.7 kilos. He is the first calf to be born at the zoo in 20 years.

Passport trouble traps Aussie in Cairo

AN invalid passport saw an Australian turned away from an emergency evacuation flight out of strife-torn Egypt as others remain trapped amid the deadly violence.

A second government-chartered flight out of Cairo landed at Frankfurt about 8.30pm last night, overcoming mechanical difficulties which delayed its scheduled departure by about 12 hours.

The aircraft carried 103 passengers, 92 of whom were Australians, while some 40 others remained in Cairo keen to leave, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) confirmed. Read Full Story Here

*Australia - Melbourne Victoria* floods force Koo-wee-rup residents to evacuate

THOUSANDS of people were given two hours to get out of their homes as fast-rising floodwaters last night threatened to engulf four country towns
The State Emergency Service said it had told more than 6000 residents of Koo-wee-rup, Iona, Bayles and Cora Lynn in Gippsland to grab their pets, medicine, photographs and three days' clothes and flee to emergency centres in Cranbourne and Pakenham. Read More Here
